Tuesday 11 November 2008, Van Nelle Ontwerpfabriek, Rotterdam

Summary

The idea for this session is to offer genomics researchers inspiration, tips and advice on how to think ahead about the valorisation of research results.

When applying for grants in the Horizon Programme, researchers are required to add a forward looking statement on future results with potential for valorisation. A valorisation implementation plan is part of the application. In this context it seems that the first stages of the valorisation process are the most challenging for genomics researchers. Some of the questions that arise are: In what way can society benefit from my research results? How can I get industry interested in my research? Where do I start? Who can assist me? This session will contribute to answering some of these questions.
